Instruments
The piano and the drum kit, both playable right here. The keyboard is the map the rest of the site draws on, and the kit is where you hear what a groove is made of. More instruments follow.
Piano.
The keyboard is the map the rest of this site draws on. Press any key and the note name appears, which is why the black keys sit in groups of two and three finally makes sense.
Why register matters
Two instruments playing the same note sound different because of their harmonics. Two instruments playing in different registers change what a line means even when the notes are identical. Both are easier to hear than to explain, which is the reason every page here plays.
